About five years ago I made a decision to make fitness a part of my life. I was working out 5-7 days a week either at the gym, doing at home routines (P90X, Insanity, etc.), running 5K’s…anything to keep me motivated to stay healthy. I was always more of an endurance person/athlete and would lean towards workouts where you could push yourself almost to the point of passing out, or at least exhaustion.
When my wife was talking to her friend about CrossFit (CF) and she mentioned how motivating it was and how hard the workouts were and that she was seeing the best gains of her life, I was truly intrigued. I walked into The Pack in 2013 feeling I had great endurance and cardio and was welcoming a new challenge to improve that. What I left with was a huge piece of humble pie about what I thought were my strengths and also a new knowledge of what my weaknesses are. I found a place that could make me better in all aspects of fitness. I also found people who were just like me. People who were motivated by challenge and who wanted to support you, work with you, sweat with you, joke with you, bleed with you…I was hooked. I had never worked out in the methods CF trains on and now I can truly say I’m in the best shape of my life.
I got my Level One CF Certification in 2015 and my hope is to work with all our members/athletes to improve their lives through CF. I am passionate about our members/athletes achieving their goals and want them to push beyond what they thought they could do.
I also thoroughly enjoy training our athletes on improving their endurance and Obstacle Course Racing (OCR’s)…another personal love!
